Nick Dunkley has been telling stories and writing poems for many years, mostly for friends and family. Much of his poetry has been shared on Facebook, although a few pieces have found their way into other places too. One was used in the village where he grew up, and another was written as a tribute for a funeral.
A recurring theme in much of the poetry is memory: looking back, getting older, places and people that have gone, and the sense of loss that often comes with all of those things.
He also writes more professionally, particularly on LinkedIn, where most of the posts are about technology, IT, AI and the changing world of work, although the occasional poem has appeared there too.
In 2025, he decided it was finally time to do something with some of the stories and ideas that had been percolating in his head for years, including looking at publication and exploring whether some might work as games.
Old Guy Games is a place for those ideas to find an outlet: stories, poems, games, experiments and other creative projects, along with some of the journey involved in turning them into something other people can see, read, hear or play.
